Day 10: God's big umbrella

Think About:

Life always has the opportunity to throw us some battles – a teacher we find difficult, a friend who hurts us or perhaps frustrations in our family. Any of these things can make us feel like we are helpless, alone or defeated.  

Regardless of what storm or battle we face, we need to know that God has our back! Not only has He given us weapons to fight these battles, He is our protection during the battle.

King David knew what it was like to be in battles. Sometimes God gave David a plan that included the ending – imagine that – knowing that if you followed the plan, the battle would end just the way you were told. Sometimes He didn’t give David the ending, but David knew that God had his back. 

David knew how to praise, fight and rest in God’s protection. Maybe that’s what made him such a good songwriter!

What now?

How can you be like David?

In times that are scary, confusing or when we feel helpless, let’s rest in the protection that God provides - fight the battle knowing God has a plan. Praise God before, during and after the storm and trust in His protection. He knows the ending to any battle we face.
