Faux Real: Fear Or Faith, You Choose.नमूना
How to Have Faith When You Don’t Have Control.
We love the notion of being in control. We believe that it should produce the certainty required to step out in faith. But what do you do when you realize that in life you have very little to no control?
When it comes to the circumstances we face and the unpredictable situations life throws at us, we really do not have to live that long to realize that ‘control’ is a fluid concept.
This revelation can cause paralysis in even the most gifted leader as they realize they cannot control others’ thoughts about them, their actions toward them or their opinions of them. This knowledge is the very fuel that can feed anxiety, immobilize, and be the cause for hesitation in life.
While there are many things beyond our control, there are equally as many things that control us. I’m talking about our emotions and expectations. I’m talking about comparison and condemnation. What can be really confusing is knowing you are called, but at the same time knowing you are not in control. So how do we pursue God’s calling when we are clearly not in control?
Well, let me get straight to the point. While it’s true that we have little control over life’s situations, we do have a choice. Because no matter the circumstance, there is always a choice, and the fact that you do not have control does not mean that you don’t have a choice.
Joy is a choice. Others cannot make you happy and things cannot make you happy, because joy is a choice that you make. Peace is also a choice, and likewise, faith is also a choice.
I’m talking about not just what we see but the way we see things. You could be asking God to take you to a different city, but maybe God is asking you to see your city differently. You can choose natural means, or you can choose supernatural provision. Your perspective is your choice.
You may have no control over the fact that you did not have a father in your life, but that does not mean you cannot make the choice to be a good parent regardless. You may have had no control over how someone mistreated you, but the choice is yours as to whether you are a victim or walk in victory. You may have had no control over the fact that you were abused, but the power to forgive is your choice.
Both fear and faith are a choice. Faith is not about control, faith is a choice that, when made, moves the HAND OF GOD.
