The Coming Promiseनमूना
DAY 5: “For no word from God will ever fail.”
God’s promise always has confirmations. Have you ever had someone give you a “word from the Lord” and you have wondered if it really was the Lord? The Bible makes it clear that there is more than one spirit and that we should test the spirit.
I John 4:1, “Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world.”
Do not accept a word from just anyone! Test it. Three is the number of completions, so in my life I’ve always asked God for three confirmations. They can come in a variety of ways: The Bible, prayer, a person, a prophetic word, etc.
Mary had multiple confirmations about Jesus. The first was Gabriel’s word to her and her second was upon arriving at Elizabeth’s home.
Luke 1:39-45, “At that time Mary got ready and hurried to a town in the hill country of Judea, where she entered Zechariah’s home and greeted Elizabeth. When Elizabeth heard Mary’s greeting, the baby leaped in her womb, and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit. In a loud voice she exclaimed: “Blessed are you among women and blessed is the child you will bear! But why am I so favored, that the mother of my Lord should come to me? As soon as the sound of your greeting reached my ears, the baby in my womb leaped for joy. Blessed is she who has believed that the Lord would fulfill his promises to her!”
You have to keep in mind that in that time word didn’t travel fast. Sometimes it would take days for people to get a message from someone else. There is a good possibility that Elizabeth didn’t know Mary was pregnant and upon May’s arrival she would share the news. However, Holy Spirit couldn’t wait that long and revealed to Elizabeth what was happening. Elizabeth then told Mary the news that Mary was hoping to share with her. Hello confirmation!
Gabriel went to Joseph and told him Mary was pregnant and gave Joseph instructions on what to do next, another confirmation. And then let’s talk about all the prophetic words – Micah 5:2, Isaiah 7:14, and Isaiah 9:6 to list a few. The beautiful thing about God is that He repeats Himself over and over again. The other incredible thing to remember is Luke 1: 37, “For no word from God will ever fail.” NOT ONE!
God only speaks life. Once God speaks something, life begins. Read Genesis 1 if you need a reminder of this.
Each time God speaks to you, write it down. Keep track of those promises and confirmations of His promise. Why is this important? You will have people question your calling. You will have people tell you it wasn’t God. You will have people doubt you. When this happens, you go back to the promise and confirmations of your promise. You hold on to the scriptures God gave to you and remind you that He’s birthing something within you.
“For no word from God will ever fail.”
