Who Is Jesus for you?
What do you think about your school? Maybe you think of it as a great place where you can grow and make progress (good for you!). Maybe you don't like this place because one of your teachers has it in for you (unfortunately, it sometimes happens). Or maybe you think badly of school because you don't understand teachers' decisions most of the time. Maybe you despise it because of the shabby halls, ugly classrooms, or P.E. classes. It is so easy to get a general opinion based on one room or some situations you haven't really understood. When you focus on them, you tend to forget all the good moments, the relationships that will last for ages, and more often than not, your first time falling in love.
We form impressions of God in a very similar way, which causes problems because this way of thinking leads us to countless lies, half-truths, myths, and stereotypes about God.
I don't know who Jesus Christ is for you, but I know what the Bible says about Him. He is both God and the Son of God. In Him lives all the fullness of the Deity. The Bible says that He is the way, the truth, and the life. He is Lord of lords and King of kings, and no one comes to the Father except through Him. The Bible says that He is powerful and almighty, but most importantly of all, He is in love with you!
And what do you think of God? Who is Jesus to you? Is He a pal, a friend, a best friend, or maybe a stranger? Is He your help or a nuisance? Is He your savior or someone you just heard about a few times?
Prayer: Dear Jesus, let me know you. I want to know you as my friend and savior. I want to give you my life because I know it will be saved then. Be my way, my truth, and my life. Amen.
Challenge: During the next month read the four Gospels (the ambitious version - it means 3 chapters a day) or read just the Gospel of John (the less ambitious version) and then, try to read the Bible everyday.
