Brave in your calling

Have you ever thought about God as an artist? When I get to see a sunrise, the vibrant oranges, pinks, and golds that slowly color the sky, I think of God as an artist. When I see the leaves on trees change colors right before my eyes in the fall, the landscape a beautiful pallet of earth tones, I think of God as an artist. 

God is an artist. The greatest artist and creator of all time. But, sister, God’s artwork isn’t just in nature. You are God’s masterpiece. And God’s artwork isn’t just for display. Like an artist plans out his piece, selecting mediums and canvases and colors, God had a purpose for our lives long before we were created. His purpose? To do the good things He planned for us. We are created to fulfill the plan God has had for us from the beginning. 

You are a masterpiece of God and there is a special assignment for your life - your calling. Take some time today to think about what it means to be God’s masterpiece, and what God has called you to do. What are the “good things” He planned for you? When you think of your life as a work of art, you can see how everything in it was created by God with purpose. You can be brave in your calling, trusting the work of God, the greatest artist. 

Jesus, I am in awe of your artistry and how You call me Your masterpiece. Father, help me to honor You by being brave in my calling to do the good works You planned for me. Amen.
