Can You Imagine?Sampel
More Than Able
When did I start to forget
All of the great things You did
When did I throw away faith for the impossible
How did I start to believe
You weren’t sufficient for me
Why do I talk myself out of seeing miracles
You are more than able
Have you ever spent a long time believing God for something?
At first, your prayers may have been full of faith. You were sure God would make a way. Then, over time, when there wasn’t any evidence of change, you slowly stopped expecting God to come through. You still love Him, and maybe you even give, serve, and worship wholeheartedly. You know God can do the impossible. You read about it. You even believe it a little, but you have stopped believing it can happen for you. There’s a father in scripture who would have empathized with you. We don’t know exactly how long the father in Mark 9 had seen his son suffering, but clues in the passage tell us it wasn’t a one-time thing. His boy had been ill for some time. Anyone in that position would get discouraged. There comes a point when we naturally prioritize survival and coping over faith, but God has so much more in mind for us than that. When the father acknowledged he needed help overcoming his unbelief, Jesus didn’t condemn him. He healed his son.
The father didn’t have a lot of faith. He thought Jesus might come through, but he wasn’t sure. However, when he brought that little bit of faith to Jesus, Jesus did a miracle.
The father had come too far to give up. So have you. God isn’t through with you yet, and your story isn’t over. God wants to do immeasurably more in your life than you can imagine. He is more than able to come through for you, even now.
If your faith is running low today, bring the little faith you do have to Jesus. He won’t condemn you.
Make this your prayer today:
I’ve come a long way
I’ve seen how You work
There’s so much goodness and grace
Much more than I deserve
I know who I am
I can’t stay where I’m at
We’ve come this far by faith
And I just can’t turn back
You’re not done with me yet

Whether you’re new in your relationship or you’ve been walking with Jesus for a while, it’s easy for your faith to lose its sense of expectation. Maybe you used to believe God for big things, but you’ve been disappointed, and now you find yourself rationalizing why He won’t come through. It’s time to remember that your God still does miracles, and He wants to move in your life.
