CREATION REVEALS THE GLORY OF GOD
WORD
In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. - Genesis 1:1
THOUGHT
There’s just something about contemplating creation. When we take the time to do so, it humbles us, leading us to worship and adore the Lord.
As I write this, the view through my window reflects the handiwork of the Lord, an unfolding canvas created by a skilled artisan. Just above the wooded hilltops, the slow-moving and shape-changing cloud formations reflect dawn’s early rays, creating brilliant colors of blue, white, and gold. An almost translucent mist hovers above the yellow and brown winter landscape; though a few pale green patches are slowly emerging, signifying spring is near. Songbirds that grace the trees seem like they’re working to out-sing one another.
All creation reveals the glory of God. True, you do not have to be a believer in Christ to appreciate the beauty of nature, but only a believer in Christ can appreciate the beauty, depth, and majesty of nature’s Creator. Without him, there would be no beginning. Without him, light would have not pierced the darkness. Had he not spoken, “Let there be,” the word emptiness would describe the darkness, void, and absence of life. But God did say, “Let there be,” and the result is indescribable beauty, brilliance, and the holy presence of divine creative pageantry.
PRAYER - For yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever.
Glory to God in the highest! You are God the Father, Jesus Christ the only Son, and the Holy Spirit. There is no other God but Yahweh! May all the heavens and earth declare your glory! Amen.
