The Power Of GodSampel
Powerful...in meeting our needs
Yesterday, we talked about the power of God’s Word that’s certainly being fulfilled, which is precisely what’s called...a promise. The Bible contains thousands of them…
And among these promises, there are some that God makes without reservation when it comes to taking care of us. Here’s one in particular that I experience every day and have for decades:
“And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:19, NKJV)
These words stand out to me: “according to His riches in glory.” When God meets our needs, He displays extraordinary creativity!
- He gives answers often in unexpected ways, the opposite of what we’d imagine. This was Peter’s observation when Jesus told him to throw the net on the right side. (see John 21:6-11)
- The Lord’s answer often exceeds the need: the disciples collected 12 baskets full of leftovers when Jesus satisfied the crowd’s hunger with only 5 loaves of bread and two fish. (see Mark 6:43)
- The means used is sometimes extravagant, as the story of the poor widow shows us: with one flask of oil, she was able to pay her debts and keep some for herself and her two children. (see 2 Kings 4:1-7)
When He answers our prayers, God demonstrates both His riches and His glory, through His unbounded generosity and endless mercies.
God knows that we have a tendency to worry. How am I going to pay the bills, fill the refrigerator, make my family happy, etc. Is this the case for you?
That’s why God reminds you that He’s taking care of you. His resources are unlimited. Everything belongs to Him. So don’t be worried. Just expect to be surprised by God’s plans that surpass your imagination. When He says, “I supply all your need,” He supplies!
Every day, God renews His mercies for you...because His reserves are unlimited. God is a rich and glorious God!
Enjoy this beautiful day in His presence.
