The Holy Spirit Likes Me: He lives in me
Anybody who has ever seen science fiction movies or the TV show "The X-Files" gets the creeps thinking about being possessed by a spirit. True enough--possession by an evil spirit is horrible.
But having God the Holy Spirit living in you is a beautiful thing. The Lord Jesus loved his disciples so much that he promised the personal indwelling of God himself in each believer.
He said just hours before he died for us: “I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Counselor to be with you forever--the Spirit of truth. . . . You know him, for he lives with you and will be in you” (John 14:16,17). Think of it--a loving God himself lives in you to help you each day of your life. How cool is that?
