I will never forget the humiliation I felt as a freshman on the JV track team. For weeks I had been training for the sprints, but on the bus to a track meet the coach told me that he had entered me in the pole vault. The pole vault! I had never done that before. Needless to say, my performance was pathetic.
One of the sweet things about Christianity is that God doesn’t just set the bar way up high and then tell you to jump to get his approval. The Bible says in 1 Corinthians 12:3, “No one can say, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ except by the Holy Spirit.”
