Psalm 124 acknowledges that if God had not been on Israel’s side, they would have been overwhelmed by their enemies. This psalm celebrates God’s protection, declaring that “our help is in the name of the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.” In 2 Thessalonians 3, Paul prays for deliverance from “wicked and evil people,” expressing confidence that God will guard and strengthen His followers. The Holy Spirit reassures us of God’s protection, reminding us that He is our shield in every situation.
Our security isn’t found in earthly strength but in God’s power and presence. The Spirit gives us peace, knowing that God’s protection surrounds us even when circumstances feel overwhelming. With Him by our side, we’re never defenseless; His mighty hand guards us from harm and delivers us from trouble.
Today, ask the Holy Spirit to renew your trust in God’s protection. Reflect on times He has kept you safe, even when you were unaware. May you live with confidence, knowing that God is your refuge and strength, a very present help in times of need.
