We Grow: A Journey of Drawing Closer to Godनमुना

Day 190 of 365
James 3 describes the tongue as a small spark that can set an entire forest ablaze, underscoring the immense power of our words. In 2 Kings 7-9, the prophetic words of Elisha bring life and hope to a people facing famine, while other words bring swift judgment and justice. This contrast reveals that words, when guided by God, can bring healing and life, but if misused, they can harm and destroy. The Holy Spirit empowers us to use our words with wisdom, kindness, and truth.
Our words have a profound impact on those around us, carrying the potential to uplift, encourage, and bring healing, or to wound and divide. The Spirit teaches us to be mindful of what we say, guiding us to speak words that reflect God’s love, grace, and truth. Just as Elisha’s words carried the authority and compassion of God, we too are called to let our words reveal God’s heart.
Today, ask the Holy Spirit to help you tame your tongue, speaking only what brings life and encouragement. Surrender your words to Him, trusting that He will guide you to speak with grace. May your words become a source of healing, peace, and strength to those around you.
