How Big Is Your God: Part II

While traveling, Pastor Francis Chan met a man who shared that his intelligence was so low in high school that in his junior and senior year he passed only one class. Remarkably, this young man prayed fervently for God’s intervention.

According to Francis, this man prayed, “Lord, I’m a Chinese man with glasses. I’m supposed to be smart. Please help me become smart.”

He immediately felt a burning sensation in his brain and knew God was at work. Today this man is on the medical staff at Harvard!

In 1 Kings 4:29 we read, “Now God gave Solomon wisdom and very great discernment and breadth of mind, like the sand that is on the seashore.”

People often put their own limitations on God. We have not managed to bring about miracles so many assume it to be an impossibility, but humanity and the Lord do not share the same limitations. Whether you believe it or not the Lord is more than capable of astonishing miracles.

God will continue displaying His power whether you are paying attention or not. Have you asked Him for anything big lately?

• What is a miracle? Have you ever experienced one? How did you know it was a miracle? What’s the difference between a gift and a miracle? Do you thank Him for His gifts and miracles, both large and small?
• Do you trust the Lord? How have you shown your trust in Him? Do you have faith that He is still capable of miracles? Do you make enough space for Him in your life?
