Day 3: Walking in the Light of God's Word

God's Word contains timeless principles about money management, generosity, and financial wisdom. Today's verses span from basic money management to the heart issues surrounding wealth. As we seek God's wisdom, we must allow His Word to illuminate both our practical decisions and our spiritual attitudes about money.

Prayer:

God, I am so grateful for Your Word. It is a lamp unto my feet and a light to my path. It helps me to know who You are better. And when I read it and meditate on it, I find out who I am in You.

Your Word says in 1 John 5:14-15, "And we are confident that he hears us whenever we ask for anything that pleases him. And since we know he hears us when we make our requests, we also know that he will give us what we ask for."

That is amazing! I can pray what You want and know that not only do you hear me, but You'll do what I ask!

Today, I specifically ask for:

• Wisdom to handle wealth in a way that honors You
• Freedom from the love of money
• Understanding of biblical financial principles
• A generous heart that reflects Your character
• Protection from get-rich-quick schemes
• Patience in building wealth Your way

I have spent the last few days asking for wisdom, knowing it's fully Your idea to give it. Thank You for the things You have already shown me, and thank You for the things yet to come.

And today, I'm going to dig deeper into Your word to see the wisdom You have already told me. As I read, I ask, like Paul in Ephesians 1 prayed, that You would enlighten the eyes of my understanding. So, as I read the wisdom in the pages of the Bible today, show me how it applies to my situation.

Help me to be both a wise steward and a cheerful giver, knowing that all I have comes from You and belongs to You.

In Jesus name, Amen.

As we wrap up today, consider this: money should never hold you back from the dreams God has put on your heart.
