Habakkuk

21 पैकी 17 दिवस

Our next section in the chapter we read is an ancient poem, similar to the opening poems in Micah and Nahum, describing a powerful, terrifying appearance of God, similar to the imagery of God on Mt Sinai in the book of Exodus (ch. 19-20).

Habakkuk goes on to describe the future defeat of evil as a future exodus (v. 8-15).

Pharaoh and Babylon have become an example of nations against God. In the same way God came as a warrior and split the seas in the battle against Pharaoh, v. 13 tells us God will once more bring his judgment down on the head of evil. God will once again bring justice to all people, and rescue the oppressed and the innocent.

Habakkuk

Habakkuk is all about having vision when all you see is injustice. It is a timely book for the Church today to engage with. How do you carry a vision when the world seems to be going in the opposite direction? Habakkuk gives us some great insights into this question. This plan was crafted as a My Local Church study plan. We hope you will join us on this journey.
