DAY 4: THROWING OFF PRIDE

Reflection:

Humility precedes revival. Ezekiel's recognition of his limitations and inability to bring the dry bones to life marked the beginning of a miraculous revival.

Humility is the absence of pride. Pride and self-sufficiency can be stumbling blocks on the road to revival. When we rely solely on our abilities and underestimate our need for God, we hinder the work of His transforming grace. Isaiah 57:15 reminds us that God dwells with the contrite and lowly in spirit. He revives the heart of the humble, but the proud miss out on His life-changing power.

The extent of our humility determines how far we can be revived. Consider the story of the tax collector and the Pharisee in Luke 18:9-14. The tax collector's humility, expressed through a simple plea for mercy, led to his revival, whereas the Pharisee's self-righteousness hindered his spiritual growth.

As we seek revival, remember that humility is the key. When we look at ourselves through the eyes of God, acknowledge our limitations, and approach Him with a humble heart, we position ourselves for a transformational encounter. God longs to revive our spirits, breathe life into our dry bones, and lead us to a vibrant, revived life in His presence.

Response:

Take a moment to identify areas where pride may have taken root or where constant comparison with others has clouded your perception of your true worth.

As you identify and acknowledge these areas, ask God for the grace to embrace true humility and align your self-perspective with His divine vision. Commit to put Him first and pray for the transformation and revival in your life.
