Revelationनमुना
There is some weird, poetic imagery described in Revelation 19. This can be difficult to read and deterring because of its confusing nature. However, as we press in and cross-reference scripture, the imagery becomes clear that this is talking about Jesus. As we see the sword that is mentioned coming out of His mouth to defeat his enemies, we can see that this sword is actually the word and truth of God, mentioned and described as a sword in Hebrews 4. This revelation brings us to the conclusion that Jesus didn’t come to physically stab and defeat His enemies with a sword, but He is coming to speak the truth of the word. And that truth is that He has already won this battle so there is no need for further violence, but rather the bringing of the final truth to be spoken once and for all.
As we read this today, how does our view of the word of God change? How can we start to view the power of the word of God to what it truly is? Does this spark in us a new motivation to memorize scripture?

The apocalypse ("uncovering" in Greek) that John receives reveals the nature of the world as it is and will one day be. Amidst all of the cosmic imagery is a Lamb and its army who conquer through the power of sacrificial love. This 8-week plan is written by the church and for the church as we seek to follow Jesus in the 21st century.
