OUTCRY: God’s Heart For Your Churchनमुना
The Bride
The bride is ready. She is clothed in a new white garment. All of the righteous acts of the body of Christ are made manifest, and she can officially drape it over herself, covering every flaw and sense of self-consciousness. Her dress is new, dazzlingly bright white and made of the finest quality. She looks beautiful. She becomes everything she was designed to be in a single moment. And standing before her is the bridegroom. Jesus.
Though time is not a limitation to him, he still carries a sense of expectancy and joy over this moment. There is a roar from the crowd as she enters. It is so expansive with attendees that the crowd sounds like a raging river. An explosion of joyful noise so loud that it shakes your bones and awakens your soul. It is an awe-inspiring moment of pure power unlike anything witnessed by mankind. The greatest moments in history and the largest gatherings of people pale in comparison.
This is the culmination of the entirety of church history.
The church you and I are a part of week after week. Even the churches that seem tired and old. The churches that seem insignificant or out of touch. House churches. Megachurches. Church history. All of it wrapped up into this single scene in Revelation, where the bride walks into the destiny that God had planned for her since the dawn of creation.
Here is the spoiler alert to our story: the church is still around in Revelation 19! We are on the winning team! No need for self consciousness. No need to be defensive.
The best days of the church are ahead of us. The moment we grasp the significance of our church—in the local, here-and-now sense—will be the moment we walk in power and freedom right where we are. The moment we begin to see each other as members of the same family, our influence will spread.
