The Bible. What Is It? नमुना
Kids are naturally curious. They want to know how the world works and why things are the way they are. “What are you doing?” “What is that?” and “Why?” are questions they ask parents, teachers, neighbors, or anyone who will answer them!
God loves our questions, too! Some questions won’t be answered until we meet him face-to-face, and others he knew we’d ask, so he put information, answers, and stories in the Bible, so we could know him and what he’s like - and get answers to some of our questions. That’s part of the journey of faith - discovering the character and nature of God.
Jesus had a very important religious leader named Nicodemus come to him in secret one night, and Nicodemus had questions. John 3 records their conversation, and Jesus answered Nicodemus’ questions but not how he had expected. He had to wrestle with what Jesus told him about needing a new birth, being born-again - not in the physical sense, but in the spiritual! Jesus wanted him to know there was a way to start over again.
Just like Nicodemus, we’re invited into a conversation with God. Through God’s Word, we listen to him speak to us, and then through prayer, we get a chance to speak to him - to tell him how we feel, to ask questions, to ask for help for ourselves or others who are hurting.
This rhythm of conversation with God is how he interacts with us and how we can grow closer to him. Like breathing, we must inhale God’s Word and exhale through prayer and worship. God wants to have a conversation with you today because he wants you to know his love and know him as your Father.
Consider: What does it mean to be born again - have a new birth - that comes from God? As a child of God, what sort of conversations might I have with my Father?
Reflect: Read the Scripture passages and journal your thoughts and takeaways as a part of your conversation with God. Ask yourself:
- What is he speaking to you?
- How does that affect you?
- What should you now embrace or change?
- What do you want to tell God in your response?
