Daniel was one of the people carried away as a captive from Judah in the Exile part of this reading plan. Here he writes of a time in the future for him and still in the future for us. Even though Daniel is living in very dark times, worse times are coming. Fortunately, those even darker times will be followed by God’s recue of his people.
We look forward to when Jesus will return because he will make everything right. We experience many things we find unjust and evil, but God will have the ultimate victory!
