Remnant: Learning From The Passionate Apostle

DAY 6 OF 10

Peter was a slow learner. Even after all that had happened and all Jesus had revealed to him, Peter still didn’t respond correctly when Jesus tried to prepare His disciples for His arrest and crucifixion. Jesus predicted they would all abandon Him after His arrest, but would come back around after His resurrection. He then promised to meet up with them in Galilea once He had risen from the dead.

Understandably upset, Peter argued with Jesus’ prediction.  Peter’s intentions were good and came from a place of sincere affection for Jesus, but his actions revealed a level of arrogance and ignorance.

As much as we’d like to believe we’ll never fail Jesus, we will. Before we can lean on God for strength, we must come to terms with our need to do so. Humility is essential in the life of someone who hopes to please God.

Thank God for helping you come to terms with your own imperfection so you can learn to lean on His perfection.

About this Plan

Remnant: Learning From The Passionate Apostle

To say the apostle Peter was passionate about following Jesus Christ and advancing the Gospel would be an understatement. The man tried to walk on water to get to Jesus, cut a guy’s ear off for trying to arrest Jesus, and allowed himself to be crucified upside down for his faith, but Peter’s journey didn’t happen overnight. Don’t be intimidated by Peter’s headlines. Read his backstory and be encouraged.
