is for Yikes!

The sink overflowing with dishes, the laundry room overflowing with clothes, my toddlers overflowing with tantrums, and my phone overflowing with texts! Yikes! On any given day we can be overwhelmed with all of the little things! They can make us overflow with feelings of despair and discouragement, feelings that I’m not enough, the reminder that I am weak.

We can only keep all of the plates spinning for so long before they fall to the ground.

When we are battling all of the little things we need to set our mind on the one who is in control of all things! He will put it all in place!

Romans 8:6 says, “For to set the mind on the flesh is death, but to set the mind on the Spirit is life and peace.” We want to trust in how big our God is and believe He can handle it all—the big and the little things. He is the only one who can help me manage the plates that He wants spinning. He sets the standards, not me or this world.

I’m seeking to set my mind on God and His power instead of my weakness. “I will boast only about my weaknesses...Three times I pleaded with the Lord about this, that it should leave. But he said to me, ‘My Grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.’ Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me. For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities. For when I am weak, then I am strong.” (2 Corinthians 12:6, 8-10)
