is for Xyst: A Garden Walk Planted with Trees

Many times when I was parenting I felt all alone and that I was walking in the shadow of darkness. I didn't understand when I was adopted by Christ that I was walking on a path laid before the foundation of the world. God had gone before me. Even when things appeared to be out of control I was walking in a path covered by His love, protected by His mercy and grace.

This is true of every one of His children and it is true of you if you have trusted in Christ as your Lord and Savior. He has gone before you. His banner over you is love, like the garden walk planted with trees, even when it looks or feels as though you are in the valley of the shadow of death. Every day He

• Is the King of kings and Lord of Lords.
• Is your Beloved and you are His. His everlasting love is for you.
• Gathers you under His wings, close to His heart.
• Is your refuge and your strength.
• Is your refuge and protection.
• Is your covering, your canopy, your shelter.

He is with you on this path caring for you. He is leading you as a shepherd leads his sheep. He is caring for you as you are caring for your little one.

Knowing this you can go forward in strength, courage, and comfort no matter what you encounter. Listen to the Lord's words to Joshua. These words are words for you as well. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the LORD your God is not only with you wherever you go He has laid the way like a garden path covered with His love and grace.
