Trusting God in a Financial Crisis

7 DIENA NO 7

Day 7—God models outrageous generosity.

This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers and sisters. If anyone has material possessions and sees a brother or sister in need but has no pity on them, how can the love of God be in that person? Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth. — 1 John 3:16–18 (NIV)

One of the proudest moments I have as a dad is watching my boys place their “give” money in the offering plate at church. I pat them on the back as they look up at me, big grins on their faces. Our heavenly Father feels the same way. God gives freely to us, setting an example for how we are to live, and He loves it when we imitate His behavior.

You see, God provides for those in need through people like you and me. And giving generously is the most fun you’ll ever have with money! No matter where you are today, you can start practicing generosity with the little you have. Whether it’s $10 or $10 million, generosity is a mindset, not a numbers game. At the same time, it’s hard to help people financially when you’re broke! If you want to put yourself in a position to live generously, you need to manage your own money so you can build wealth and be a blessing to others.

Here’s the bottom line: Jesus gave everything for you, so if you’re truly following Him, you can’t help but live generously. You’ll want to treat others the same way He’s treated you!

You might be in a season where you’re short on cash. That’s okay. There are plenty of ways to share what you have, and here are a few questions to help you get creative:

·  How can you share your time or talents with people around you?

·  What dreams has God given you for living generously in the future? And what do you need to do today to make it happen?

If you’re ready to get control of your money so you can bless others, check out Ramsey+. It’s full of commonsense, biblically based tools and teaching that will help you be a good steward of what God’s given you.

Thanks for joining me for these past seven days. Keep doing the hard work of trusting God with your money. He’s faithful, and He will show up!
