Daily Bible Reading - October 2020: God’s Life-Giving Word of Justice and PeacePavyzdys
October 23
Introduction
Because the people have turned away from the LORD, Jeremiah warns them that they will be punished. Because of their sins, “good things” have been withheld, and evildoers live among the people.
Scripture Reading
Jeremiah 5:20-31
Today’s Key Verse: Jeremiah 5:22a
“I am the LORD; why don’t you fear me?”
Reflect
For what things will the people be punished? Reread verses 30 and 31. How do these verses summarize the situation? Is this message relevant for us today? Why or why not?
Pray
Gracious God, look upon us with favor and restore us to a right relationship with you. Where there is divisiveness send your healing; where there is unrest, send your peace; where there is deception, send your truth. In your holy name, we pray. Amen.
Prayer Concern
Those who are being denied justice
Tomorrow’s Reading
