God’s Promises Are Good
Have you even held out hope for a promise someone has made to you, only to deflate with disappointment when you were let down? Even the most well-intended promises made can collapse because of human frailty. In one letdown after another, it’s easy to become jaded and pessimistic, holding your heart away from hope and believing that something good will come because you just can’t take one more disappointment.
But God has a whole new perspective. Anchor on Him. He is the One constant that holds all things together. He has seen your life from the beginning, knows your heartache and hope, and longs for you to take Him at His word. He promises so much for your life, and He is trustworthy to come through.
God has promised plans for our lives that are bright and full of joy, to bring prosperity and a future. He has established the work of our hands and promised us life in abundance. We can count on Him to come through for us, standing in confidence that He is who He says He is and will do all He says He is going to. We can trust the One who brought all things together.
His promises are good and there is never ill-intent with them.
He promises that you are fearfully and wonderfully made, that He has called you and summoned you, that you are His. He promises salvation for eternity, through the death and resurrection of Christ Jesus.
God’s ways are so good, and we can rest in the assurance that there is nothing He wouldn’t do for His children, which He has shown over and over. Every single promise God made in the Bible has come to pass. And we can bet that all His promises regarding the future will happen, too. Believe in the power of His promises.
Which promise do you need to be reminded of today?
