A LIFE PLEASING TO GOD

When Joseph’s brothers came to Egypt and saw him, they all realised the past mistakes they made for selling him as a slave and lying to their father that he had been eaten by a wild beast. There is evidence of repentance from Joseph’s brothers when they revealed to him the truth of the money they found in their sacks. This is the fruit of repentance. When we have repented and have been borne again, we will bear the fruit of repentance that can be recognised by other people around us.

Those who live in the fear of God will speak and do the truth. When Judah was before Joseph to protect Benjamin from the charges of stealing Joseph’s cup and gave his explanation, he spoke humbly and openly. So does our attitude before the Lord when we speak to God openly and humbly.

Joseph understood that everything happened in His life was all because of God’s plan, because God had a purpose to use Joseph to save his family. Many times in life we face undesirable and difficult situations, but because we live in the fear of God we need not worry or become angry, because we know that God always has a good intention to those who live pleasingly before Him.

God is pleased with Joseph, and God manifests the dreams He gave Joseph before. We learn from Joseph how to stand and live in righteousness. It takes sacrifice to live a righteous and honest life. There is a price to pay. But rest assured, like Joseph’s story, at the end, righteousness and honesty will prevail.

God always intends for goodness to everyone who lives pleasingly before Him.
