"What Does God Want From My Life?"

Gypsy Smith was a 19th Century, English preach who was used greatly by God. Nearly one hundred years ago, when asked the secret of how God could use him so much, his answer was profound:

“Go home. Lock yourself in your room. Kneel down in the middle of the floor, and with a piece of chalk, draw a circle around yourself. There, on your knees, pray fervently and brokenly that God would start a revival within that chalk circle.”

This story has been shared many times over the years since Gypsy first revealed his heart.

The revival prayer of 2 Chronicles 7:14 resonates with Gypsy’s statement. It does not say “When THOSE PEOPLE out there” humble themselves, repent and seek my face, but it does say “When MY people”.

In many ways, it’s on us to respond to this age-old call to prayer. To lay our lives down again at the foot of the cross, and ask Christ to awaken us once again, for His glory, and for the sake of the world.
