THOUGHTS:

After experiencing trauma, it is common for thoughts to become stuck in negative patterns, which can contribute to ongoing feelings of distress and anxiety. However, changing these thoughts can be an important step in healing and moving forward. This is not possible without a greater source of truth and the only source of TRUTH in my opinion. This source is God’s Word. Plain and simple, the living word transforms your mind.

Transforming your mind with the Word of God refers to the process of renewing your thoughts and beliefs with the principles and teachings found in the Bible. It involves a deliberate effort to replace negative, limiting, or erroneous thoughts with positive, uplifting, and truthful ones. By regularly reading, studying, and meditating on the Word of God, you can begin to align your thoughts with God's truth and wisdom. This transformation can lead to a more positive outlook on life, increased resilience in the face of challenges, and a deeper sense of peace and purpose. The Word of God provides guidance, inspiration, and hope, and by internalizing its message, you can experience a profound transformation in your mind, heart, and soul.

Here are some strategies for changing thoughts after trauma:

  1. Practice mindfulness: Mindfulness can help you become more aware of your thoughts and feelings and bring them in alignment with God’s Word.
  2. Challenge negative thoughts: Once you can identify negative thought patterns, challenge them by questioning their accuracy and replacing them God’s Word. For example, if you find yourself thinking "I'll never feel safe again," challenge that thought by asking yourself if it's really true and replace it with a scripture that supports God being your refuge and protector.

Questions to Ponder:

How much time do you spend meditating on the Word of God? What are the barriers to renewing your mind? Your mind is as equally as important as your mind. Your mind must be protected from deception. Make a mediation plan and gauge how it changes how you see yourself.
