Peace Is Beautiful

So far in this Bible Plan, you’ve learned that peace heals you when you’re restless or brokenhearted. Yesterday, you learned that peace is something you can join God in making! 

Have you ever heard of something called kintsugi? You’ll learn about it in this video from Ellie, a friend of The Loop Show. And it’s a really cool picture of what peace can look like. 

Peace is that especially beautiful thing that fixes what’s been broken. It’s not just a glue that makes something almost as good as new. It’s a gift from God that fixes relationships and hearts until they’re better than new! 

Peace from God is better than any kind of peace the world may give you. God’s peace floods minds and hearts. A word of encouragement instead of complaining can literally change someone’s whole day. How? It makes real peace. It fills in cracks with shimmering beauty. It calms fears, restores brokenness, and makes things new. 

Ask yourself: Am I working hard to bring healing and peace to myself and my relationships? How can I join God in restoring what’s broken?

Challenge yourself: Think of how you can be like a golden glue to fix what’s broken around you or inside you. How can your thankfulness be a glue? How can your encouragement be a glue? How can your acts of genuine love and kindness be a glue? Do one act of peacemaking and restoration this week. 

Pray: God, thank You for filling the broken places inside me with peace. You make all things new. And You make things amazing and wonderful. In Jesus’ name, amen.
