DAY 4 OF 7

Day 4: Embracing the Call to Fruitfulness

Scripture: John 15:5
"I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing."

God’s call to be fruitful is not limited to biological children. Jesus teaches in John 15 that our fruitfulness comes from remaining connected to Him. As we abide in Christ, He produces fruit in our lives—whether that fruit takes the form of spiritual growth, acts of service, or deep relationships with others. God’s call to bear fruit is broader than we often imagine, and it extends to all believers, regardless of their marital status or whether they have children.

Consider the example of Anna the prophetess in Luke 2:36-38. Anna was a widow who spent her life in the temple worshiping and praying. Though she did not have children, she was incredibly fruitful in her faithfulness to God’s calling. She served God faithfully in her singleness, and when she saw Jesus as an infant, she rejoiced and spoke of Him to all who were waiting for the redemption of Jerusalem. Anna’s life is a testament to how God can produce abundant fruit in us when we remain faithful to Him.

Prayer:
Lord, help me to bear fruit in my life, even in seasons of singleness or childlessness. I know that true fruitfulness comes from remaining in You, and I pray that You would work in me to produce the fruits of the Spirit. Help me to stay faithful to Your calling, using every opportunity to serve You and bring glory to Your name. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
