Someone Else's World

DAY 16 OF 20

"...forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors." Matthew 6:12 ESV

Conflict starts very early in humanity.

Conflict starts even in the garden.

For God, how we resolve debts defines our character. For followers of Christ, dealing with debts (conflict) should start and end with love.

Don't let emotions of anything else surpass the mind of God in conflict.

As disciples of Jesus, we are called to "partner" in the faith. Regarding debts against one another, we have two options: We can partner with God in a spirit of forgiveness and love or in a spirit of unforgiveness.

To put it more bluntly, we can partner with Heaven, or we can partner with hell.

We have this ability to "enslave" people with unforgiveness.

While I understand the pain of suffering at the hands of another, I also know that unforgiveness has no part in God's story because of Christ Jesus. Forgiveness is a big deal to God—perhaps the biggest deal. When we dig our heels into unforgiveness, we forget the Cross and hinder our relationship with God and others.

THINK ABOUT IT:

1. Are you enslaving someone in unforgiveness?

2. How should the forgiveness of Christ we have received affect our forgiveness towards others?

PRAYER PROMPT:

Father, help me truly forgive those who have hurt me.

About this Plan

Someone Else's World

What if we traded our little worlds for the Eternal Kingdom, now and to come? Walk with us, line by line, through the Lord's Prayer as we begin to release our grip on how we think we should live and embrace how Jesus wants us to live.
