Lent: The Journey of Letting Go

DAY 25 OF 40

Week 4: God’s Presence in Suffering and Renewal

Theme: Even in our darkest valleys, God is with us, offering comfort, hope, and the promise of restoration. His love sustains us through every trial.

Focus Scripture: 2 Corinthians 1:3-4 ‘Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we receive from God.”

Connect: Hardship often leaves us feeling vulnerable, as though we’re standing unguarded in the face of challenges. In these moments, we may struggle with fear or uncertainty. Yet, they also invite us to trust in a source of protection greater than ourselves, leaning on God’s care and faithfulness.

Engage: Jeremiah faced significant threats, yet he placed his trust in God as his defender and refuge. His prayer reflects both honesty about his fears and a deep dependence on God’s justice. Jeremiah’s example encourages us to bring our struggles to God, trusting that He is our shelter in times of trouble and the One who works all things for good in His perfect timing.

Apply: Take time today to name any fears or worries weighing on your heart. Bring them to God in prayer, asking Him to be your refuge and strength. Trust Him to provide protection and peace, even in the face of uncertainty.

About this Plan

Lent: The Journey of Letting Go

Lent begins with a call to release control and embrace surrender. By letting go of the burdens we carry, we create space for God’s grace to bring renewal and transformation. Matthew 11:28-30 “Come to me, all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”
