Prayer Journalಮಾದರಿ
Sometimes, prayer comes easily, and other times, it can feel a bit clunky and difficult. Over the years, I’ve developed some prayer tools to help strengthen my prayer life, and I’m excited to share a couple with you.
The goal of this reading plan and our time together is to equip you to create your own prayer journal. I will walk you through several scriptures that you can write in your journal and some prompts that will guide you through a processing exercise. Additionally, I have included a video where I walk you through the journal prompt and sing a song that you are welcome to learn to help you hide God’s Word in your heart!
Grab a notebook, and let’s get started. (If you don’t have paper available, you could also use the notes app on a device.)
At the top of the page, write out the following verse: “Devote yourselves to prayer with alert mind and a thankful heart.” Colossians 4:2 NLT
Say a prayer, inviting God to help you devote yourself to prayer as you use this journal to build your prayer life for His glory.
Underneath the verse, write the following statement, “I’m thankful for…”
Then, write 2-3 people or actions that you’re thankful for. On future days, plan to review this verse and add more items that you’re thankful for.
Alright, we’re almost finished with Day 1.
Turn the page, and at the top of the next one, write, “Thank You God for My Family and Friends.” Then, list the names of your family and friends. Consider creating columns or list family members of a single family on one line so that you can fit many people on the page. Again, on future days, you can come back to this page and pray for your friends and family by name, adding to the list as you desire.
And that’s it! Day 1 of your prayer journal has been started. Let’s pray.
God,
Thank You that we can strengthen our prayer life and use different creative tools to help remind us of important topics to review when we pray.
Amen
