Reignಮಾದರಿ
As we read this week, King Solomon was God’s dear friend. God appeared to him twice, but towards the end of King Solomon’s life, his heart was turned to other gods, and God was furious. Why? Why the anger? Why was God’s very first commandment of the Ten Commandments to have no other gods before Him? (See Exodus 20:3.) Paul gave us insight into this part of his first letter to the Corinthians. The other gods are not imaginary or fake or powerless—they are demons. That’s terrifying. But that’s also why God was so serious in His warnings. In and among what we see, there is a spiritual battle going on. There is God, and then there are lesser beings. One wants your heart; the other wants your downfall.
As terrifying as that is, we serve a God who has defeated evil. On the cross, Jesus dealt a decisive blow to the forces of darkness. Then, He promises that He is going to return and defeat evil once and for all. You are on the winning side. What that means is that the darkness knows it is working on borrowed time. What that also means is that you are in a battle. It’s where you live. As a follower of Jesus, you stand in a position of authority. When you pray, pray, Take a serious position. You are influencing heaven. God is listening, ask Him and His forces of goodness to act.
There is a lot we don’t know, but we do know this: at the end of time, we will stand with Jesus, victorious. Until that time, let’s be aware of the battle we’re in and take a stand for God and His Kingdom.

About this Plan
History tells many stories of drama regarding kings and queens. This governmental system of power and our fascination with it has existed throughout history—even in Biblical times. In this devotional, we’re going to take a closer look at some of the reigns of the kings who ruled over God’s people and what we can learn from the lives and reigns of the people who led God’s people over the centuries.
