We Grow: A Journey of Drawing Closer to God

DAY 344 OF 365

Day 344 of 365

In Zechariah 9, we see a powerful prophecy of a humble king riding into Jerusalem on a donkey, foreshadowing Jesus’ entry into the city centuries later. This humble image is contrasted with the triumphant vision of Christ in Revelation 1, where Jesus is revealed as the Alpha and Omega, the One who holds authority over all creation. Through these passages, we’re reminded that Jesus is both the humble servant and the reigning King—a Savior who came to us in gentleness but who also reigns in glory and power.

The Holy Spirit invites us to embrace both aspects of Jesus’ character: His humility that reaches out to the broken and His majesty that commands reverence. As we reflect on these qualities, the Spirit transforms us to live with a blend of humility and confidence, enabling us to walk as representatives of His kingdom. This vision of Christ calls us to bring His peace into a world fraught with division, trusting in His power to restore and make all things new.

Today, ask the Holy Spirit to deepen your understanding of Jesus’ kingship. Let His character shape your own, inspiring you to live with both humility and boldness. Embrace the call to be a peacemaker and a beacon of His justice and love, knowing that the King of kings reigns within you.

About this Plan

We Grow: A Journey of Drawing Closer to God

We Grow: A Journey of Drawing Closer to God is a 365-day Bible reading plan led by Bishop Gary Lewis, the General Overseer of the Church of God. The plan is designed to deepen your faith and understanding of God’s Word. Each day begins with a short devotional, followed by carefully curated Scripture readings, and concludes with the S.O.A.P. exercise—Scripture, Observation, Application, and Prayer. Through this plan, you’ll grow in biblical literacy, discover God’s mercy and purpose, and learn to partner with Him in His Kingdom work.
