Wounded Women: Allowing God to Lead You on Your Healing Journey

DAY 3 OF 4

Day Three: Let's Make This Practical

After reading John and Stasi Eldredge's words, "we are wounded into believing horrible things about ourselves," I had to let the statement settle.

Upon my reflection, a question presented itself that you, too, may want to consider. If the statement is true, how then do we break free and begin to heal from the self-limiting thoughts from our wounds or the beliefs of others that were projected onto us?

Here are my thoughts:

First, let’s remember that healing may not be pretty, but it’s healthy. Healing can take months, if not years, to work through its process.

Second, we remember that John 10:10 has two parts:

  1. The Accuser comes only to STEAL, KILL, and DESTROY.
  2. Jesus CAME so that we have an abundant life.

We must keep the full passage in mind as we partner with God along our healing journeys.

Third, no matter who or what has hurt you or how your wounds have formed, my prayer is that you begin to declare and incorporate biblical truths over and into your life, such as:

  • 2 Corinthians 10:3-5 ESV
  • 1 Thessalonians 5:23 ESV
  • Colossians 3:1 ESV
  • Proverbs 4:23–27 MSG

These are just a few biblical truths that you can declare over your life as you learn to heal and overcome the adversity you have faced or are currently facing in this season.

Let's Pray - Father, we acknowledge the wounds that have led us to believe hurtful things about ourselves and ask for your guidance in breaking free from these self-limiting thoughts. May we find strength in your Word and begin to declare and incorporate the biblical truths that lead us toward the abundant life you desire for us. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

See you on Day Four.
