How Can We Put on All God's Weapons?ಮಾದರಿ
The most important question when we talk about the Christian's armor, according to Ephesians 6, is how to actually wear it.
The apostle Paul strongly encourages us to put on all the weapons of God so that we can stand firm against the devil's cunning and seductive maneuvers. Before we look a little further at the term "put on," it's crucial to examine the term "strengthen," quoted earlier in the verse.
The first thing we must do before putting on the weapons of God is to strengthen ourselves in the Lord. This word refers to being endowed with strength or growing in strength. When the apostle Paul writes the epistle to the Ephesians, we need to realize that there is a context to consider. Paul refers to the armor of the Roman soldier when he speaks of the armor of the Christian.
Have you been taught to pray every morning, declaring to take by faith every weapon God makes available to you? A spiritual routine of declaring that you pray "I take the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation"... with no visible result in our spiritual life? I did this in the early years of my Christian life, but out of spiritual honesty, I have to admit it's not effective. If you've done or are doing this type of prayer, you've probably sometimes forgotten certain weapons, and out of fear of doing the wrong thing, you've quickly opened your Bible in your prayer time to look for the last weapon or two you forgot to declare...
"Ah yes! And I'm also taking the belt of truth and the breastplate of justice! Here you go... Amen."
So how do you effectively clothe yourself in all of God's weapons and live a victorious Christian life? That's what we'll see in Day 2.
