Courageous Choices Part 1ಮಾದರಿ
WAIT FOR GOD'S TIMING
God has promised the people a lot of land. And there were already a lot of people living there. As the people packed up to get ready to move, they knew they were facing many battles. This land would not belong to them tomorrow or the next day. Following God obediently would mean years of difficult work before the promise was fulfilled. And yet, they took the first steps to get ready. They were acting now as if that far-off future was real.
There is a brief phrase used here in verse 11 that comes up frequently in the Old Testament. Though it was made famous in the New Testament- “Three days from now…” Over and over again, God’s people wait three days for His promise, for His deliverance, for His rescue, for His power. Moses, Esther, Jonah, Hosea. And, of course, Jesus.
The third day is God’s day. The third day is the day of the Lord’s breakthrough, the Lord’s presence, the Lord’s victory. We wait and God’s glory is revealed in His triumph.
Ask Yourself:
-What have you been waiting for?
-In the waiting, how are you being obedient to God in the small and big ways every day?
-Are you waiting with trust and expectation, or are you grumbling and impatient?
Pause to Pray: Lord, as I am waiting, help me to grow up! Develop the fruit of your Spirit in me today, tomorrow, and every day as I walk with you from one day to the next, from one decision to the next…
Take a Next Step:
-Look back over your journaling. Have you clarified your crossroad? Now, identify the key to moving forward. What step of obedience do you need to make? What is the next task that needs to be done to get ready? How will you tackle the fear and discouragement? When the time is right, will you move forward?!
