God's Gloryಮಾದರಿ
Living to God's glory
“[Jesus] is the guarantee of our inheritance until we acquire possession of it, to the praise of his glory.” (Ephesians 1:14)
We humans were created to the praise of the glory of God. Our life purpose was to glorify Him. Because of sin, we have failed miserably. By nature, we live for the glory of ourselves, not the Lord. But when we gratefully accept God's gift of forgiveness and receive salvation, He is honored, both in heaven and on earth.
Luke 15:7 says that there is joy in heaven over every sinner who repents and comes home to God again. Jesus is glorified when that happens because it is a result of His saving work, a ‘reward’ for His suffering and death.
Every time someone comes to faith, this is also a proof of God's victory over Satan. After all, that person is taken out of Satan's clutches, which makes it clear that Satan has been defeated by Jesus.
God's name is also honored before other people when His healing and sanctifying power becomes visible in our lives: “Let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven” (Matthew 5:16).
Are you living “to the praise of His glory”?
About this Plan
The Bible speaks much of God's glory, expressed by the words כָּבוֹד (in Hebrew) and δόξα (in Greek). This is God’s heavenly splendor and majesty that sometimes becomes visible on earth. This reading plan will show you how great God is and how you as a believer can share in His glory.
