Are you still carrying around worries?
First read Matt. 6:34, Matt. 11:28 and Jeremiah 17:7-8.
Does your daily life seem stressful to you? As soon as you wake up on Monday, your thoughts are probably already circling around work and your to-do list, while new messages start to pop up on your cell phone. In addition to stress, worries also complicate life: worries about health, family, job, or your financial situation. We are all familiar with these thoughts.
Even after a holiday, sometimes we don't really feel recovered and actually need a few more days of post-vacation vacation. If you recognise this feeling, you may have rested physically during your vacation, but you didn't give your soul a break. We often forget that not only our bodies, but also our souls long to recover from the stress of everyday life. They long to come to rest with God and have their batteries recharged.
But there is good news. For there is someone who desires that you go through everyday life with ease and filled with His joy, applying your gifts and living out of His abundance. His name is JESUS. But can you trust Him? Does He tell the truth? Is He serious? Jesus encourages you not to carry your burden alone, but to unload it onto Him, thereby finding divine rest. Are you already living in the here and now? What matters today?
God's Word is full of promises and encouragement. It's up to you to believe and accept it. In the following, I would like to encourage you to start your day differently by changing your habits and thoughts, because therein lies the secret to transforming negative habits into positive ways of living:
1. Start your day right!
Start your day not with social media news on your phone, but with God's Word. Speak His promises out loud and start believing them.
2. Take quality time with God every day.
In prayer, make a conscious decision to put your problems, worries, and challenges in God's hands, trusting not in your own performance, but in Him.
3. Remind yourself.
Whenever negative thoughts or lies begin to weaken us in our daily lives:
- Take a moment and remember what God has said to you: He bears all your sorrows (Matt. 11:28)
- Remember (with the help of your gratitude list) what good things He has already done in your life
Next Step:
Which worries are troubling you right now?
Take the top one and go through steps 1-3.
About this Plan
What do I actually want to do with my life? Is what I'm doing right now the right thing? How can I get more motivation to achieve my dreams? Which job makes me happy? Is there really a calling in my life? Are you up for changing the world, starting something meaningful with your life, and still staying relaxed? Sound impossible? It is not. You can do more.
