The War on Wisdom

DAY 25 OF 35

True, lasting friendships can often feel few and far between. Relationships are often treated like transactions, based on what people give and take from each other. However, as Christians we are called to a higher standard in our relationships with one another. Our friendships should inspire those around us, pointing people to God.

A true friend is someone who should “love at all times”, not only when it is easy or convenient. Friends whose love is temperamental, ebbing and flowing through different seasons and times, are not true friends at all.

This proverb takes real friendship one step further stating that “a brother is born for adversity”. Here the term brother is used in a sense beyond a literal blood relation. This brother (friend) is willing, available, and around you during times of trouble, suffering, sorrow and hardships.

We need to aim to be these types of friends. We need to be those friends who see others through the good and bad in life, the thick and thin, the type of friends who love at all times, regardless. Take some time to ask yourself whether you are really a friend to anyone. Maybe we need to reconsider how we grow and develop our friendships.

About this Plan

The War on Wisdom

We are at War, a war raging since the day that man decided to choose a way other than following the Counsel of God. But God in His grace gave us the strategy we need to be victorious - His Wisdom. The 'War on Wisdom' is a 5-week reading plan through parts of the book of Proverbs. Our purpose is to help the believer reclaim the Wisdom of God.
