The War on Wisdom ಮಾದರಿ

Were you ever in situations where a Physical Education teacher chose two captains that had the task of picking teams until all the children in the class were picked? One factor always made these situations bearable for me, eliminating all fear: when one of the team captains was a friend of mine. I would immediately know that I wouldn’t be picked last. I was safe.

Although I have a good relationship with my siblings, we would often remark that we probably wouldn’t have been friends if we weren’t family, we are just too different. But we were born into this family, so we accept, love and tolerate each other. Sometimes we are forced to do so, just because we are family.

We are all born into a family. Good friends, however, are the brothers or sisters you have picked for your team. The people that get to know you and decide to stay anyway. In a way, they are your chosen family. They are the people that accept, love, and tolerate you because they picked you. These people keep showing up because they want to.

Am I the type of friend that sticks, that keeps showing up, and that makes my friends feel safe?
