Called To Loveಮಾದರಿ
Love Each Other - Love closes the door on the enemy and opens our heart to Christ!
In this passage Jesus repeatedly emphasizes the need for love in our relationships. He specifically mentions in verse 13 that there is no greater love than laying down one’s life for his friends. Of course, in today’s context, laying down one’s life for even a best friend seems rather extreme. But laying down our pride, our prejudices, our unforgiveness, our hurts, and learning to love beyond reason is definitely within the realm of possibility. It is a tried and true concept that when we look beyond ourselves, our relationships are enriched and ultimately glorify God.
There are two perks of taking up His command to love one another. One is to be given ‘Friend Status’ over ‘Slave Status,’ being made aware of all God is doing in and around us. The second is being handpicked and chosen to go into the world and be fruitful in the places that God has planted us. So let us today make a conscious decision to love each other the way Christ loved us - selflessly and unconditionally.
Prayer -
• Help me go out of my way to love and forgive people in my life
• Grant your people the strength, Holy Spirit, to love in a way that brings you glory
Thanksgiving -
• Thank you, God, for your love towards me and calling me your friend
• Thank you for sending your son who laid down his life for your people exemplifying how we should love unconditionally
