The Names of Jesusಮಾದರಿ
ALPHA AND OMEGA
The Alpha and Omega, this name and title give insight into the height, the depth, and the width of Jesus’ reign. To echo the Psalmist, where can I hide from your presence? Nowhere! The omnipresent is everywhere! His authority goes everywhere. For He says, I have been given all authority. The Father uses this title at the beginning of the book of Revelations. In chapter 1:8, He says, “I am the Alpha and the Omega—the beginning and the end,” says the Lord God. “I am the one who is, who always was, and who is still to come—the Almighty One.”
Jesus is not only focused on the beginning and the end. In verse 8, He starts with “I am the one who is”, and after that, He says “He was, and He will be”. The focus in these words is in the now. It is in the present. The prophecies about the future and the past’s events affect the present. The fact that the Alpha and Omega was born 2000 years ago influences your life today -- not only during the Christmas season but every day of the year, your life is impacted by this event.
The Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. The one through whom all was created is born on this earth. He was laid down in a crib, for there was no room in the inn. How much room is there in your life for Him now? For Jesus wants to be the one who is and was and is to come. The God of your present, your past, and your future.
Jesus, I invite you into my present so that you will be the God “who is” for me. I am inviting you to be my present, past, and future. The Alpha and Omega of my life.
