Long-Lasting Faith

God’s faithfulness to us is durable. The Bible teaches us that even if we are completely faithless, He is still faithful—because it’s just His nature. If you look back over your life and over the lives of others who have been following Jesus for a long time, you can easily spot times when God showed His presence. He helped people find hope. He brought joy. He taught us what love is. He cared for His people.
A long-lasting faith understands that the very nature of God is good. He is with us when life is bad. He gives us hope for a joyful life with Him forever when we die. Long-lasting faith trusts that God is working things together for good, even when we can’t see Him or feel Him.
Ask yourself: What’s a time in my life when I felt like things were pretty bad? How was God with me during that time? How can I sense His presence with me if I ever live through a tough time again?
Challenge yourself: Find one person you can talk to this week about what it’s like to have a faith that lasts through both good times and bad. Ask them how they keep their faith in God alive even when their life is difficult.
Pray: God, thank You for being my good Father. Thank You for caring for me and taking care of every detail of my life. I choose to trust that You are always at work whenever my faith feels weak. In Jesus’ name, amen.
