Living in the Goodness of God

DAY 1 OF 3

"I love You, Lord. For Your mercy never fails me. All my days, I’ve been held in Your hands." (Goodness of God)

How can you praise the Lord today?

Perhaps praising the Lord seems really hard today. Perhaps you’re reading these words and you feel numb because the weight of heartbreak, or shame, or pain, or confusion, or anger lays heavily on your shoulders. You’re thinking, "How can I praise God when I don’t have anything to praise Him for?"

Remembrance is the key. “Goodness of God” says, "I love You, Lord. for Your mercy never fails me. All my days, I’ve been held in Your hands."

It can feel so impossible to think of anything to praise God for when we are walking through fire or sitting in the depths of despair. In fact, you may not feel His mercy at all in this moment. However, Lamentations 3:22-23 says, “Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for His compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness.” This reveals to us the truth that the Lord never runs out of mercies for us. His love and compassion for us is unfailing, even when we cannot see it.

So, take a moment now and praise the Lord

“I love You, Lord.”

Now, take another breath and remember at least one circumstance where the Lord showed His mercy to you.

“For Your mercy never fails me.”

Take yet another pause to remember a moment where the Lord rescued you.

“All my days, I’ve been held in Your hands.”

If He has done it before, He has the power to do it again. His goodness is constant and unchanging, so take time today to praise all He has done for you and worship Him with “Goodness of God”.
