Dreamers Are Doers
Have you ever wanted to lose a few pounds? Did you lose those pounds by wishing really hard? Did you do so by sitting on the couch watching workout videos? How about laying waste to an extra-large supreme pizza—did that help? I’m guessing not. Whether your dream is one of health, home or career, your dream will not work until you do.
If you have the mindset of a dreamer, you’ve got to do. The difference between what you wish for and what you receive is what you’re willing to do about it. We all wish for things, but only those who are willing to do something about it see their wishes fulfilled.
The Bible says it this way, “Faith without works is dead” (James 2:26). Now let me clarify; I didn’t say that faith is powerless. Faith is powerful. So much so that Jesus said if we only have faith the size of a mustard seed, we could move mountains (Matthew 17:20). Faith is powerful, but the fuel of faith is our effort. If we’re not willing to work at faith, faith will not work in us. We can’t just dream about something; we’ve got to put forth effort to make it a reality.
When you start working on your dream, decide what kind of work you’re going to do. Jesus told His disciples, “Whoever compels you to go one mile, go with him two” (Matthew 5:41). The work we’re talking about here is not what is merely required. the work of dreams is to do more than what is required. Declare war on average and mediocre. Refuse to be anything less than your absolute best. That’s how you plan success…you go the extra mile.
Here’s the thing, it’s God who ultimately brings you wealth (Deuteronomy 8:18) and success (1 Chronicles 29:12). If you put God first, if you seek His kingdom and His righteousness, He will add everything else to you (Matthew 6:33). He will do the miraculous things you cannot. And if you are working toward your goal every day, and if God is on your side, the one thing you cannot do is fail.
Today's Blessing:
May the Lord bless you and keep you. May the Lord make His face to shine upon you and be gracious unto you and give you His peace. Do not be afraid. Put your faith in God, get to work, prime the well, and let the blessings of heaven fall!
About this Plan
In a world of hardships, God still has a wonderful plan for your life. He is not overwhelmed by the days in which we live, nor is He bothered by any predictions of difficulty that lie ahead. God is waiting to hear from His children, hoping we have enough boldness to ask Him to make our dream a reality.
