Let God Be Your Protectorಮಾದರಿ
Do you struggle with bad thoughts?
Your brain tends to believe almost everything you tell it. Your brain will believe your self-talk before it will believe me or someone else who loves you. Your internal dialogue will influence your feelings, dreams, desires and plans.
Have you ever believed a lie? How did it affect you?
It comes as no surprise to me that the devil loves to tell you lies. He has limited power and limited resources, but he can speak to your mind to cause you to think thoughts that are destructive and even demonic.
Have you ever had a bad dream or terrible thoughts? I assume you have because I have. It’s so normal. The Bible warns us that the devil “...was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies.” (John 8:44, NKJV) He’s a liar and has no power over you, but he can lie.
Do you remember Adam and Eve in the garden? The devil couldn’t touch them, but it only took a few lies to divert the perfect will of God. Satan told Eve, “‘You will not certainly die,’ ... ‘For God knows that when you eat from it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.’” (Genesis 3:4-5, NIV)
The greatest weapon you can develop is a strong mind focused on truth. The Bible promises, “Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” (John 8:32, NIV)
Fill your mind with truth. Get rid of all negative self-talk. Confront the lies from the enemy and reject them. This is spiritual warfare at its finest.
I used to feel so guilty about some of my thoughts and dreams, but I learned that true Christianity was not the lack of bad thoughts or feelings but the choices I made. I chose to reject these thoughts, confess my sins and ask God to help me make better decisions.
God is so gracious and understanding. He will do the same for you and more. He loves you. Reject the lies of the enemy, and choose the spirit of truth.
Because you’re a miracle.
