Through the Bible: Numbersಮಾದರಿ
See Others’ Needs in Action
So Moses said to them, “If you will do this, if you will take up arms to go before the Lord for the war… and the land is subdued before the Lord… and this land shall be your possession before the Lord.”
Numbers 32:20-22 (ESV)
The nation of Israel was standing at the banks of the Jordan, in the plains of Moab, and was preparing to enter the Promised Land, Canaan. The tribes of Reuben and Gad requested an inheritance on the east of Jordan, not Canaan.
Moses promised to give the land to them if they helped the other tribes conquer their lands. As they agreed, Moses designated the inheritances for those tribes. Thank God they did not forget their promise and helped their brothers in the conquest of Canaan (Joshua 22). Receiving God’s blessings is great, but let’s not forget to help our brothers to reach their promised land too.
Prayer:
Father God, You have called us to be Your children to make a difference for You in this world. Help us to be kind and not make vows that we cannot keep. Help us to rely upon Your power, give us a good heart to help others, that they may see Your good works through us and glorify Your name. We ask this in Jesus' name, Amen.

About this Plan
The book of Numbers, as the Hebrew name suggests, is the Israelites’ travelogue in the wilderness, from Mount Sinai to the plains of Moab, right before entering the Promised Land. Because of the Israelites’ disobedience, the 11-day journey turned to 40 years! But rest assured, God always restore His people to the place of blessings as soon as we return to Him. Come journey through Numbers with us.
